What is Love?

Hello Guys,

I recently had a conversation with one of my girlfriends and we were talking about relationships. She made an interesting comment that I thought I should share with everyone to get an idea of how you all feel about it. She said that when people fall in love and you're younger (18-23) you find yourself doing stupid things or being rash. Now I kind of understood what she was saying but then I started to wonder if real true love is really blind where you just feel out of control. I know you may feel like you're on some kind of high when you're in love with someone. However, is there a fine line between love and infatuation, or love and lust. Is love supposed to be a 24hr high where you just don't know what is going on around you?

How do you know you're in Love and if you haven't been in Love, but thought you were, what made you think that it was Love? If you’ve never been in love, how do you think you’ll know?

Tough questions... I know lol However, I wanted to pick your brain as I continue to JustWonder......

Where do I start???? Just from my experience, my first Love was cute and adored me much more than I adored him. He somehow convinced me that he was the one. I was love sick as we broke up and got back together repeatedly... I left him after 6 years. My true love came shortly after that and wow, what can I say??? He convinced me that if we got married, I could trust him and we'd have forever..... I gave him my all and he left me. And after that one, I had to take a look at my life and figure out what love was. I realized that it wasn't control which was what I was attracting... controlling men. Now, after being single for almost 3 years, and being saved; I've realized that Love is unconditional only by Christ, everyone else is human, born of sin and in need of forgiveness. So in my next relationship, I will still love with my whole heart, forgive more and put GOD first. However, he must be respectful, spiritual, honest, hard working and able to make me laugh. The rest we can work out as we journey through life together.

Love, peace and blessings and you
were missed!

Love is enduring is infatuation comes and goes just as easily. Love is patience, understanding, and sensible and infatuation is none of that.

I've been in love and I know I have. Being in love is crying when you're told things are over. Loving is being willing to do anything without question.

It's been well over a year since I've been in love, but I'm searching for it still and hoping that when it finds me, it'll stand the test of time.

The difference between an 18 year old with a Porsche and a 40 year old with a Porsche is the former is more likely to loose control and wreck their ride. So, an 18 to 23 year old in a relationship is not always mature enough to handle themselves and therefore the relationship properly.

I think infatuation is becoming mesmerized by shallow exterior and temporary traits, while truly loving someone requires an ability to see the good, bad, and ugly, and knowingly deciding that in spite of the bad and the ugly, they still want a relationship.

Ultimately the second best definition I have for love is "in spite of".

my first boyfriend i was stupid! I was 18 and I defined love from all those stupid romance books I've read.
Instead of opening my eyes, I was living my fantasy and boy when he cheated, reality was hard.
I haven't hard a boyfriend since..i am 27 and sooo much wiser!!
There's a lot of things that i will never do again...
Plus I have no more tolerance for BS
